My name is Leo Jensen ,born 1954 in Denmark but lived here in England since 1998 together with my Filipina wife I married in the Philippines in 1987 and been there several times since big passion for football all my life but only played for smaller clubs in Denmark . Moved to England in mid 70s a couple of years to follow Manchester United I have been supporting since childhood.
In 2003 I visited the Philippine Football Federation in Manila for the first time and as it was my dream and still is to see them in the World Cup one day so I sat up PFAUK Philippine Football Agency here in UK to find sponsors to get the team here to UK for training and play matches. At that time a harder and impossible task to reach without any support.
But after my last visit in IloIlo in May 2008 it was proved that by train and play for bigger clubs it had helped PFF in the AFC Cup with 2 wins and 1 draw the best result for many years and big help from the 6 UK- Filipino players and especially a clean sheet by Fulhams reserve goalkeeper Neil Etherigde.
After the AFC Cup and a meeting with PFF President Martinez it was decided I should arrange a trial here in Manchester to find talented Filipino players and try to build up a team here in UK and it was here the foundation of Philippine United FC took place to the benefit of both PFF and PUFC.
The future looks bright for Philippine Football.
